ABOUT THE Crusaders
WHO WE ARE
The Illinois Crusaders is a high school football club open to athletes from homeschool, public, and private schools throughout the Chicagoland area. Founded in 2011 by D.R. Callentine, we are deeply grateful for his vision. In 2015, Roger Scott took on the role of Football Athletic Director, bringing his extensive experience to the program. Roger, a father of ten and grandfather of eight, has been married to his wife, Lisa, for over 35 years. With a background as an Illinois home builder for over 30 years and a degree in communications from Bethel University, Roger's leadership and forecasting skills have been invaluable.
The Illinois Crusaders is dedicated to helping young men develop the character and skills needed for success beyond high school. The Bible is central to our program, guiding players as they learn football and spiritual principles. Our goal is for players to discover their full potential—physically, spiritually, and mentally—by embracing our core values:
- Sacrifice
- Discipline
- Preparation
- Standard of Performance
- Perseverance
- Teamwork
These values will be instilled in our coaches and players daily, both on and off the field, and will serve them well in football, academics, and life's challenges. Our program focuses on transforming young boys into confident men who stand firm in their beliefs and embrace God's truth, as outlined in Ephesians 6:13-17.
We are honored to host our home games at Aurora Central Catholic in Aurora and travel across the Midwest for away games. Our season culminates with participation in the Annual NHFA National Tournament in Panama City Beach, Florida.
